A look at the top updates on protests against the Agnipath scheme: In Bihar, agitators vandalised the Taregana railway station in Patna district and set fire to the railway police vehicles there in protest against the Agnipath scheme, according to PTI. Several law enforcers were injured after protestors pelted stones in Jehanabad. A 24-hour strike is also being observed in the state against the scheme, NDTV reported. The agitation has spread to Karnataka, Kerala Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Telangana, Odisha, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Jharkhand, and Assam. Several protestors vandalised the Ludhiana railway station during their protests on Saturday morning, The Indian Express reported. The police said that most of the protesters had their faces covered. They damaged the ticket counters at the station and broke window panes, the police added. Around 620 people have been arrested and 130 first information reports have been filed in Bihar since protests against the Centre’s Agnipath scheme broke out in the state on Wednesday, Additional Director General of Police Sanjay Singh said, according to ANI.
