Civic authorities in Lucknow on Monday directed the sealing and demolition of a city hotel where four persons died after a fire broke out in the morning, ANI reported. The fire occurred at the Levana Suites Hotel in the city’s Hazratganj area. The Lucknow district administration identified those who died in the fire as Gurnoor Singh Anand, Sahiba Kaur alias Jaspreet, Shravika Singh and Aman Ghazi alias Bobby, PTI reported.An order issued by Divisional Commissioner Roshan Jacob later in the day stated that the hotel had not submitted a map of the structure to the Lucknow Development Authority. The zonal officer had sent a notice to the hotel on May 26 and authorities had issued another notice on August 28, the order stated.The divisional commissioner also called for disciplinary action against officials who allowed the hotel to operate although the map had not been submitted to the civic authority, according to ANI. The official also directed the authority to seal any other hotels that have not replied to similar notices.The hotel had a fire clearance that was valid till 2024, the divisional commissioner’s order stated.
